This invention relates to new and useful improvements in comb cleaners, and the like, and it has for its object to provide a device, which will make it possible to clean a comb in an easy, quick and sanitary manner. 3

As the construction of my device is comparatively simple, the cost of manufacturing the same should be proportionately low.

With the above and other objects in view, this Figure 3 is a transverse sectional view, taken on the line 3-3 in Figure 2. v

Figure 4 is an end elevational view of a water dispensing tube, as seen in Figure 3.

Figure 5 shows another form of tube in side elevation; while Figure 6 is an end elevational view of the tube shown in Figure 5.

Figure '7 is a side elevational view of a rubber member forming part of my invention.

The tube l8 may be in one, or two pieces 2| and 22, as shown in Figure 2, as the occasion and expediency fromfa manufacturing standpoint may suggest.

Said tube is in Figure 2. shown in one piece 18, wherein depending flanges 23 of said tubel8 are bent over the top flanges 24 of the container Ill, and'the flanges, then, squeezed solidly together, as may be seen in said Figure 2.

The top of the tube I8 is formed with another flange 25 adapted to engage and hold the preferably rubber mouthpiece 20, as the depending flange 26 of the latter engages said flange 25. Several" forms of water outlet tubes are shown in the Figures 4, 5 and 6.

In Figure '7 the rubber member H has been shown separately, while in Figure 8 a modification has been shown to the effect that said rubber member is encased in a frame 21, shown in dotted lines, and which frame may be seen especially in Figure 9, said frame being in turn riveted to the container as at 28, shown in said Figure 8. The rubber member may be formed with a slit 30 at each end thereof, while a bent lug portion 3| of the frame engages said slit, as shown in Figure 11.

It will be obvious that by inserting a comb IS in the slits l3, 13 in the rubber members I 2, l2, and by passing said comb back and forth, while at the same time a faucet is opened and water let into the tube l8, for instance by means of a rubber hose, all dirt will, in view of the heavy and strong water pressure, created by the special construction of the water jet,'to which the comb is exposed, be, thoroughly removed from said comb in a few moments, while at the same time the container proper will be left clean and in a sanitary condition, as all dirt, particles and grease from the comb will simultaneouslyv be washed out of said container.

It is obvious that changes may be made in the form, construction and arrangement of the several parts, as shown herein, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the 5 spirit of the invention, and I do not, therefore, wish to limit myself to the exact construction and arrangement shown and described herein.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is:

l. A sanitary comb cleaning device, comprising a container having openings in two sides thereof, rubber members mounted in said openings, each of said rubber members being formed with a slit adapted to movably receive a comb 'therein, a 15 funnel-shaped member securely attached to the top of the container, said member having a narrow bottom portion formed with perforations therein, and a water-inlet tube detachably engaging said member, substantially as and for the go purpose set forth.

2. A sanitary comb cleaning device comprising .a container, said container having a bottom out let and being formed with cut-away portions in two of the sides thereof, the edges of said cut- 35 away portions being bent upon themselves to form spaced flanges, rubber members made with a slit adapted to movably receive a comb therein, said rubber members being mounted and held in said spaced flanges, a funnel-shaped member m attached to the top of the container, and means for securing said funnel-shaped member to the latter, the funnel-shaped member having a narrow bottom portion formed with tiny perforations therein, and a water-inlet tube made to engage said latter member, whereby to receive an influx of water for cleaning the comb.

3. A sanitary comb cleaning device, comprising a container, said container having a bottom outlet and being formed with cut-away portions in two of the sides thereof, rubber members made with a slit to movably receive a comb therein, frames adapted to have said rubber members mounted therein, said frames being fixedly arranged in said cut-away portions, a funnelshaped member securely attached to the top of the container, said member having a narrow bottom portion formed with small perforations therein, and a water-inlet tube detachably engaging said member, whereby to receive an inflow of water for cleaning the comb.

A sanitary comb cleaning device, comprising a container, said container having a bottom outlet and being formed with cut-away portions in two of the sides thereof, rubber members made with a slit to movably receive a 'comb therein, said rubber members having a vertical slit near each end thereof, lugs formed by the edges of the cut-away portions and adapted to engage the vertical slits in the rubber members, a funnelshaped member solidly attached to the top of the container, said latter member having a narrow bottom portion formed with small perforations therein, and a water-inlet tube engaging said funnel-shaped member, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
