294,670. Gillett, E. H. J. C. April 28, 1927. Laminated springs.-In vehicle suspensions of the kind in which the spring as it deflects rolls into engagement with a fixed abutment B<1> so as to lessen its effective length, the spring is fixed inside a frame channel member A<1> facing outwards, the frame being inswept from the point of attachment to allow the spring to flex freely. The channel in the frame A<1> is filled up by the abutment B<1>, the spring and wedges C; the clamping members D encircle the frame, additional bolts E being provided to fix the abutment. An inverted semielliptic spring may be connected to two axles with a similar arrangement on both sides of the fixing.
