Abstract

292,467. Soc. Les Fils de Valton et Cie. June 18, 1927, [Convention date]. Knitted-fabric sewing- machines are provided with a reciprocating needle 17 entering the spaces between the pins 5 of the intermittently rotated comb 4 from the rear of the pins, and a continuously rotating looper 18. The looper is mounted on the shaft 8 driven by a pulley 9 from an electric motor 12. The shaft 8 reciprocates the needle through the eccentric strap 21, link 22, crank 23 shaft 24, lever 26, slide 20 and stirrups 19. The shaft 8 also moves the comb 4 step by step by a pawl 15 operated by a link 14 and eccentric strap 13. The rotating looper co-operates with the needle to form chain stitches.
