144,062. Thompson, W. P., (Union Special Machine Co.). May 13, 1919. Sewing-machines; trimming; surface threads, applying.-A trimming-blade and a thread-carrier are actuated by cranks upon a common driving- shaft. A trimmer-blade carrying arm 24 is mounted upon a bar 26 which rises and falls with the presser-bar. It is actuated by a crank 35 on a shaft 34 through connexions 37, 32, 31. A thread-finger 47 is carried by a double-armed lever 49 mounted on the presser-bar 16, and the lever is actuated by a crank 53 on the shaft 34 and a pitman 52. The rock-shaft 34 is oscillated by means of a connecting-rod 39 actuated by an eccentric on the main shaft.
