291,587. Eagle Engineering Co., Ltd., and Meats, W. H. May 4, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Couplings for tractors.-A draft bar 3 engages the front axle 6 of the trailer and carries a roller 17. Inclined surfaces 19, 20 are mounted on a sub-frame 10 of the trailer and are adapted to engage the roller in the event of an abnormal force in either direction. When this occurs additional weight is thrown upon the driving wheels of the tractor by means of the bar 3. In a modified construction the wedges are mounted on the bar 3 and the roller on the frame 10.
