Seat action water-waste preventers.-A closet basin is provided with a flushing water chamber 2 in which is a container 5, which is raised into the position shown so as to open a supply valve in a pipe 27 through a float 22 and lever 25, when the seat 19 is depressed from its normal position: in the former case the raising is effected by the seat acting on pins 16 carried by levers 13, in the latter case by chains 21 connected to the seat and levers. The return of the seat to its normal position allows the container to fall and force water into the closet basin; simultaneously a chain 10 opens a valve 8 to allow part of the contents of the container also to flow to the basin.
