Abstract

Movable-abutment type; packing ; priming- arrangements for pumps.-k rotary motor or pump comprises two intermeshing rotors each formed with a piston thread composed of stepped piston members d arranged without overlap and forming an integral unit, there being three or more stepped pistons per turn of the thread so that the fluid passes forward to the next working space f without being deflected, as shown by the arrows. The surfaces e are of gear teeth form. Sealing fluid may be circulated in the pump from a tank g: when used for pumping liquid the circulation from the tank g is cut out by means of a plug valve h when the pump has been primed, the plug having a recess l cut therein to permit circulation of a part of the pump fluid. The piston thread may be cut from a, cylindrical sleeve and fixed on the core of the rotor.
