Abstract

290,256. B÷hme Akt.-Ges., H. T. May 11, 1927, [Convention date]. Grant of Patent opposed. Carbonizing fibres.-Products obtained by the treatment of oils or fats or their free acids with excess concentrated sulphuric acid, while cooling to a low temperature, are added to baths used for treating textiles, e.g., carbonizing baths. The wetting and penetrating power of the baths is enhanced and no separation of solid fatty acid salts occurs even when hard water or sea-water is used in making up the baths. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of products, for the same purpose, obtained by sulphonating fatty substances in the presence of organic acids, their chlorides or anhydrides. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 284,280 and 293,717, [both in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.].
