Plug couplings.-In an electric igniter, sparking- contacts 4, 5 are mounted at the front of an insulating body 1 connected, in series with a resistance 2 housed in an arcuate groove 3, with contact pins 10, 11, which are carried by a plate 8 rotatable on a spindle 9 so that the device may be fitted in an upright position on any suitable junction box or electric current outlet, the body 1 being provided with a petrol reaceptacle 17 to receive a wick-torch 18, which is ignited by rubbing it over the contacts 4, 5. The circuit comprises sockets 14, 15 adapted to receive the contact pins of a plug for connecting a lamp, iron, or other electric device in circuit. A plug with a single central contact pin may be used instead of the pins 10, 11.
