Pocket, pen, and like knives. - The blade a of a pocket knife is normally held closed by the engagement with the back of the blade point of a lug j on a catch f pivoted to the front end of the knife, the arrangement being such that, when the catch is turned by means of a lug k to release the blade, a lug h depresses the front end of the blade spring d, which is pivoted centrally, thereby causing the other end of the spring to act on the tang b of the blade so as to open the latter partially. The blade may then be fully opened. The catch may be provided with another lug adapted to be engaged by the point of the blade during the closing movement of the blade, whereby the catch is closed.
