Abstract
288,370. Carpmael, W., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Jan. 7, 1927. Addition to 271,940. Complex antimony compounds are produced by treating an antimonyl compound of an o-dihydroxyaryl carboxylic or sulphonic acid in approximately equimolecular proportions. Acids specified are gallic acid, gallocarboxylic acid, pyrocatechin disulphonic acid and 2: 3-dioxynaphthalene disulphonic acids. The products, which are soluble in water, possess trypanocidal properties. Examples are given of the preparation of complex bodies by interaction of sodium gallate with antimonyl pyrocatechin, and of sodium pyrocatechin disulphonate with antimonyl pyrocatechin.
