Abstract

287,784. Huppe & Bender Akt.-Ges. April 29, 1927, [Convention date]. Pocket igniters, frictional.-In an igniter in which the frictionwheel 6 is mounted to move with a pivoted arm 13, carrying a wick-cap 18 and held in the closed position by a pivoted catch against the action of a spring or springs, the catch consists of a hook-like member 22, pivoted at 23 in a fixed slotted stud 21 and held normally by a spring 24 in engagement with the arm 13, an operating finger-piece 25 being adapted, when rocked about the pivot 23, to be released from frictional engagement with the stud 21 before engaging a projection 26 on the catch to effect the release of the arm 13. The frictionwheel 6 is mounted on a pin 10 carried by a forked bracket 11, integral with the wick-tube 4, and is provided with one or more facets engaging a guard 12, which is also mounted on the pin 10 and carries the arm 13.
