Pianofortes, soundboards, framing, wrestplanks, keyboards, actions, and cases for.-In a pianoforte wherein a playable instrument is produced apart from the casing, the soundboard 8 fits tightly in a rebate of the same depth in the rear of the iron frame, and is held by fillets 13, the screws or bolts 14 securing the fillets to the frame not passing through the soundboard. The action standards 6 are bolted to the iron frame at 20 and through lugs 18. The key bottom 4 is supported by the lugs 16 on the frame and by branches 22 of the action standards. The iron frame is screwed to wooden strips 1<a> at the top, bottom and sides of the casing. The wrest-plank 3 is not in contact with the soundboard.
