Abstract
240,180. Roth, H. Sept. 20, 1924, [Convention, date]. Pianoforte framing, wrest-planks, bridges, and soundboards. - A steel frame comprises two parts, pressed out of sheet steel and secured together with the soundboard arranged between them. The rear part a is rectangular with open-, ings a', and is pressed up so as to be open at the back. The wrest-plank b is inserted from the rear. The tuning-pins c pass directly through the plate a into the wrest-plank. Bridges h are, pressed up on the front of the plate a, and the plate also has a shallow dishing rearwardly, to receive the soundboard f. The front plate g carrying the hitch-pins d, e, is triangular in shape and is secured on the plate a by rivets or screws passing with clearance through the soundboard. The plate a may be strengthened by struts k also pressed out of sheet steel.
