286,960. Bensa, F. July 21, 1927. Machine guns.-Relates to automatic guns of the kind operated by a muzzle sleeve driven forwards by the gases. According to the invention, a shutter for closing the ejection opening is held closed by a member connected to the sleeve and is free to open as soon as the sleeve moves forwards. As shown, the shutter 2 is held closed against the pressure of a, spring 4 by a detent 3 connected to the muzzle sleeve so that the shutter opens as soon as the sleeve moves forwards.
