Windscreens.-In a vehicle windsereen of the kind comprising a number of panels arranged edge to edge and adapted to be supported on the vehicle by two or more posts or pillars, each post or pillar is provided with one or more projecting flanges or attached strips to which the edges of the panels are detachably secured by set screws or like means permitting easy replacement of a broken panel. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the screen comprises two front panels 1 separated by a central pillar 4 and each comprising upper and lower sections 5, 6, and two side panels 2 connected with the front panels by inclined tubular posts 3. The central pillar 4 is formed at the rear with two flanges 4<1> to which the frame, 8 of the panel 5 is attached by screws 13 and at the front with a rib portion 7 engaging the front edges of the frame 8. Each post 3 has attached thereto supporting strips 9, 14, the strips 9 being of U-shape with a short front limb 10 and the strips 14 being of L-shape, while .setscrews 12, 19 are employed to engage the frames of the panels 5, 2. The side screen 2 is further supported by a U-shaped strip 16 and screws 19 mounted on a fixed part 18 of the vehicle body. Removal of the panel 5 is effected by detaching the screws 12, 13 and sliding it upwards until, owing to its tapering shape, it clears the short flanges 7, 10; while removal of the screens 2 is exacted by releasing the screws 19 and swinging forwardly the edge of the panel adjacent the strip 14. A modified central pillar is shown in Fig. 3, in which two L-shaped strips 21 are attached to a tubular post 20, and a removable web or flange portion 25 engaging the front edges of the frames 8 is attached bv screws 26. In place of tho relatively solid strips 9, 14, 21 and web 25 the strips, and the retaining web or flange may be formed from sheet metal strips.
