Abstract
286,520. Trier, V. A. May 27, 1927. Steering-mechanism.-A motorcycle &c. steering-damper of the friction-disc type, such as is described in Specification 233,546, comprises the combination with a member A, B which is secured to the steering- stem and forms a support for the friction discs and plates, of a screw-threaded member F mounted upon a spindle or trunnions F rotatable in the cylindrical part B of the support, and a clamping-nut or hand-wheel G mounted on the threaded member F<1> and adapted to adjust the friction between the discs and plates through the usual spring H, the trunnions ensuring an even pressure. Unintentional removal of the handwheel G is prevented by a screw G' in the upper end of the screw pin F<1>.
