Abstract

286,276. Metallbank und Metallurgische Ges. Akt.-Ges. March 2, 1927, [Convention da'te]. Alloys.-Manganese bronzes which contain up to 25 per cent. of manganese with or without one or more of the metals chromium, iron, titanium, molybdenum, tungsten, vanadium, zirconium, nickel, cobalt, and silver, contain also lead or cadmium or both, which may be partly replaced by arsenic, antimony, tin, thallium, or zinc. Aluminium is absent except as an impurity. Deoxidants such as silicon or lithium may be added and a small excess of these may be used to modify the properties of the alloys. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to aluminium, phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium as deoxidizers. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
