Abstract
A bearing alloy has the following composition: Pb 5.0-15.0 per cent, Sb 0.7-1.25 per cent, Ni 2.0-10.0 per cent, with or without Sn up to 6.0 per cent, Cu together with impurities forming the balance. The impurities may be derived from the raw materials or from deoxidising or degasifying agents. Thus, the alloy may contain up to about 1 per cent of zinc and small amounts of manganese, phosphorus and sulphur. The Specification refers also to copper base alloys containing lead, nickel and tin, together with about 1 per cent arsenic or about 1 per cent bismuth.
