Abstract

285,612. Shakespeare, H. T. Dec. 22, 1926. Cap-stoppers, screw. -A screw-capped container is provided with a collar b formed with a screw thread and adapted to be slipped over the neck of the container and secured thereto by spinning or flanging over the upper edge of the neck on to an inturned flange e at the upper end of the collar. The flange is turned inwards and downwards to form a sleeve which embraces the neck and an annular groove or depression d is formed in the upper part of the collar for the reception of the out-turned edge of the neck. In a modification, the flange of the collar turns inwards and upwards and, together with the neck of the container, is turned or spun outwards to form a bead which may enclose a wire ring.
