521,587. Unwinding thread. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES. July 5, 1938, Nos. 19888, and 1989. Convention dates, July 13, 1937, and Jan. 7, 1938. [Class 120 (ii)] An apparatus for enabling unsupported wound bodies of thread to be unwound from the inside comprises a pot. shaped container a having a polished conical core b over which the wound body is threaded and a similar conical cover e internally lined with fur or velvet and having a hole h at the top for the passage of the thread and a polished annular rim g at the base: The device enables the thread to be unwound from inside the body without tensioning or tangling of slackened thread. In a modified form, the lower part of the central core is cylindrical and formed with annular ribs, while the upper part is conical.
