Abstract

285,604. Kerrill, J. M. Dec. 13, 1926. Exhaust silencers. - The silencer comprises a flat tapering box-like structure with internal baffles c, d cast therewith. The box is provided with a cover, shown removed in the Figure, but which, when in position, forms with the baffies c, d rectangular passages, alternately at the side and the centre of the box. The inlet end is at a and the outlet at b. No bolts or rivets, except for securing the cover, are used in the construction, a large cooling surface is provided and cleaning is facilitated.
