Abstract
285,106. Franklin, C. S., and Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co., Ltd. Oct. 8. 1926. Addition to 242,342. Aerials.-In an aerial electrically long in comparison with the signal wave-length, the radiation from alternate half wave-length sections is arranged to be substantially less than the radiation from the intervening sections. As shown the section B comprises a non-radiating section B and tail portions T1B, and T2B so proportioned that the effective radiation of this section, and similarly the section D, is approximately only 30 per cent of that from the plain oscillating sections A, C, E. This improves the radiating efficiency of the aerial as a whole, particularly in respect of the sections such as A more remote from the feeder R. A number of such aerials may be grouped, and inductively coupled, or connected together in pairs as described in Specification 263,943.
