Abstract

284,785. Golbert, R. Nov. 5, 1926. Moulding wheel tyres.-Semi-solid tyres are manufactured by tightly filling an enclosed hollow space in a length of green rubber with a lump free powdered mass such as talcum, graphite or the like, forming the rubber body a<1>, Fig. 1, into a ring, vulcanizing the ring on to an undivided felloe and subsequently withdrawing the powdered core through small holes. The rubber body may be built up of a central hollow body f, Fig. 4, with attached side wings g and a spiral outer winding e, or the side wings may also be spirally wound and the felloe vulcanized to the tyre by means of an interposed layer m. Fig. 6, of hard rubber.
