Driving auxiliary parts, adapting vehicle driving - gear for. - The hoisting, luffing, and slueing movements of a portable crane are effected by two shafts 5, 6 driven through reversing-gear R from a cardan shaft 3 driven from the gear-box 1 of the motor-vehicle. Each shaft 5, 6 may be driven in either direction under control of clutch levers 55, 54. The gear R comprises a driving shaft 42, Fig. 3, driven from the cardan shaft 3, with spur pinions 43, 44 which drive wheels 45, 46 on the shaft 6a in opposite directions, and wheels 47, 48 on the shaft 5a also in opposite directions, the pinion 44 driving the wheels 46, 48 through an idle pinion. Friction clutches 50 on the wheels 45 - - 48 are controlled by two independent sliding sleeves 52, 53 so that either of the wheels 45, 46 and either of the wheels 47, 48 can be engaged with their shafts.
