283,950. Spinnstoffwerk Glauchau Akt.-Ges. Jan, 21. 1937, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Cop type. - Artificial silk and other threads wound on perforated bobbins are washed on a rotary frame having a chamber connected to suction, the bobbins being only intermittently subjected to the direct action of the liquid, so that air (or gas) is drawn through simultaneously as described in Specification 280,519. The suctionchamber d is rotated, uniformly or intermittently, in bearings b, and carries the bobbins h on perforated supports held at the other end by a plate k. The supports are preferably inclined, so that the liquid drawn through the threads may more readily flow to the chamber d. The suction tube f passes through a stuffing-box e and is bent down towards the bottom of the chamber d. The bobbins may be supported radially or conically on the rotary chamber, and the axis of the chamber may be inclined. The plate k may be replaced by a second chamber. Instead of the trough l, the periodic moistening of the bobbins may be obtained by spraying &c.
