Abstract

614,045. Air filters. BAHNSON CO. July 2, 1946, No. 19783. Convention date, May 15, 1945. [Class 8 (ii)] In a rotary air filter 4 comprising a hollow cylinder through the outer cylindrical wall of which dust-laden air is drawn inwardly and the dirt removed therefrom by filter cleaning means, e.g. a doffing cloth 24 and a brush 23, the filter cleaning means is periodically cleaned by a brush 21 projecting outwardly from the cylinder. The filter is a wire screen of 15 meshes to the inch, supported by the perforated cylinder wall, and during cleaning the brush 23 and the cloth 24 are in turn held clear of the filter by a cam 22. The inner wall of the cylinder is cleaned continuously by a brush 19 mounted at the edge of a stationary imperforate backing baffle 15 which extends over about one-sixth of the cylinder circumference and is resiliently mounted on radial arms 16.
