Thermionic generators for short-waves transmission have the parts carrying high-frequency voltages connected to choke coils Dr, which at their opposite ends are connected to each other and/or to a casing K by means of condensers C. The short-wave aerial is connected to the outputterminals A. The oscillator is particularly applicable to portable transmitting stations, inasmuch as the parts of the oscillator carrying high-frequency voltages are isolated from the batteries &c. and the optimum position of the coupling between the unearthed aerial and the oscillator is not varied by the changing surroundings of a portable station.
