Fading, preventing.-In wireless broadcasting systems of the kind in which a number of stations all using the same wave-length and transmitting the same programme are controlled by a central station, means are provided for overcoming the interference which causes weak or distorted reception in certain zones. With this object, the phase, amplitude, or frequency of one or more of the transmitting stations is periodically varied at a supersonic frequency. The frequency or phase may be varied by means of iron-cored choke coils in the transmission circuits, the saturation of which is varied by an alternating current of the desired frequency; or rotary coils or condensers may be used. Amplitude variations can be effected by modulating the carrier wave of one or more of the stations by a supersonic frequency.
