Abstract
283,188. Lorenz Akt.-Ges., C. Jan. 7, 1927, [Convention date]. Addition to 270,273. Oscillation generators.-In a wireless broadcasting system of the kind described in the parent Specification, in which the frequency of a number of associated radiating stations is controlled by currents from a central station, the control currents are sent out at a frequency lower than the limiting frequency of the transmission cable employed. The limiting frequency is defined as the frequency beyond which the transmission of energy is impracticable owing to attenuation. In the case of an ordinary telephone cable, the limit is about 8,000 cycles per second, and with a loaded cable about 3,000 cycles per second. With a short transmission cable the control frequency is chosen fairly close to the limiting frequency, and with longer cables a lower control frequency is employed with a greater step-up in frequency at the radiating stations.
