Phase, changing.-The plane of polarization of the energy emitted by a wireless transmitting station is varied to eliminate fading by feeding the aerials with polyphase power obtained from a single phase source by phase modifying impedances. The resistances forming part of the phase modifying impedances may be modulating valves T1, T2, T3, as shown in Fig. 11, in which a source of single phase potential G1 is applied to an inductance L1 from which potentials are taken through a capacitative lead C4 and an inductive lead L3 respectively. The grids of the valves T1, T2, T3 are fed in parallel from a generator ST and the output is fed to lines 11, 12, 13 through coupling coils L4 - - L9, which are tuned to resonance with the generator ST by means of condensers C5, C7, C9.
