Abstract
283,146. Ateliers J. Hanrez Soc. Anon. Jan. 5, 1927, [Convention date]. Density separators.-In apparatus for separating dust from air by centrifugal force, the separated dust particles are caught on a wetted surface and the film of water carries them to the discharge outlet. The cylindrical casing 1 has a bottom conical part 2 with pocket extensions 3 having discharge valves 4. The inlet conduit 5 has at its upper end passages 6, through which the entering gas passes and is thereby given a whirling motion. The dust is thrown out to the wall and the clean gas passes out through the passages 9 and the outlet 11. An annular chamber 14 with an overflow 16 supplies water which maintains a running layer on the internal face of the casing 1. This water carries the dust with itself to the pockets 3. Deflectors 13 may he provided on a ring 12.
