Governing and regulating meters. - In order to prevent damage to moving parts and to maintain a constant difference between the inlet and outlet pressures, the outlet of a meter is provided with automatic throttling means. The outlet valve a, Fig. 1, is controlled by a spring h, and diaphragm c acted on by the pressures. In another form, the valve m, Fig. 4, is connected to an impact plate k acted on by a spring l, the plate k being adapted to serve also as a back-pressure valve.
