Abstract

282,360. Kilburn, B. E. D., (Aktiebolaget Primus). Nov. 19, 1927. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 19, 1927]. Atmospheric vapour burners; vaporizing- apparatus.-The vaporizing tube 3 of a liquidfuel burner 5 for heating or illuminating purposes is fitted with a reciprocable rod 7 grooved at its upper end to form ridges 16 for scraping the wall of the passage 9 leading to the nipple and carrying a screw plug 20 formed integrally with a needle 10 for cleaning the nipple orifice. The lower part 11 of the rod 7 is bent so that one edge bears against the bore of a union 6 connecting the vaporizing tube 3 to the fuel supply tube 2. The opposite edge is formed with rack teeth 14 engaged by a pinion 13 on a spindle carrying an external operating handle. A cup 18 is secured on the rod 7 to catch the carbon particles removed by the ridges 16 and to act as an additional guide for the rod. The nipple discharges into a mixing tube fitted with lateral air inlet tubes.
