Fixed-chamber apparatus with counting and registering apparatus, valve systems for.-The quantity delivered is varied by adjusting the position of an overflow tube 2, Figs. 1 and 2, the adjustment simultaneously determining the subsequent extent of differential movement of the registering and/or recording mechanism. As the tube 2 is moved an arm 5 engaging a cam slot in a sleeve 7 turns the sleeve and a shroud 9 masking a ratchet wheel 10, adapted to be operated by a pawl 13 linked to the handle 16 of the delivery valve 17. The tube is retained in adjusted position by the engagement of a pivoted member 24 with one of a series of notches 23. In order to ensure that the movement of the handle 16 must be completed before reversal is possible, it is provided with a toothed sector 19 adapted to engage with teeth on a pivoted catch member 20 acted on by springs 21.
