Cylinders, covers for and mounting; frames. - The cylinders, particularly of double-acting engines, are mounted on the frames by two systems of tie bolts. One system 6, 7 serves to connect the upper part of the cylinders to the upper part of the frame 1 and the second system 8, 9 the foot of the cylinders to the lower part. Where the bed plate 5 is separate from the frame, the lower system of bolts may be used to connect it to the frame. The upper system may be used to hold down the cylinder covers. The upper system may comprise four holding down bolts, two on each side. Each complete system is used for two adjacent cylinders.
