394,509. Crank chambers. MOTORENWERKE MANNHEIM AKT.-GES., VORM. BENZ ABT. STATION€RER MOTORENBAU, Mannheim, Germany. Aug. 19, 1932, No. 23363. Convention date, Aug. 19,1931. [Class 7 (ii).] The frame is built up of a plate a extending the whole length of the engine and bent to U-shape, and T-irons e ; they are connected by plates c welded to the plate a and T-irons. Stiffeners d may be welded to the plates c &c. At their ends the plate a and T-irons are joined to top plates b and blocks g ; one set of these blocks is arranged to receive the cam shaft s if a four-stroke engine is to be constructed. Inspection openings k are made in the sides of the plates c. Feet m for the support of the engine are welded to the plate a. Specifications 336,929, [Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of], and 357,467 are referred to.
