Abstract

275,591. Sulzer FrÚres Soc. Anon. Aug. 6, 1926, [Convention date]. Cylinders, ports of.- In two-stroke-cycle engines in which the piston-controlled scavenging air ports 4 are diametrically opposite the exhaust ports 5, additional scavenging and exhaust ports 6, 7 are provided; these are arranged midway between the main ports and the inlet ports 6 are shaped as shown to direct the air above the main ports 4. The ports 6, 7 may be interposed and the main inlet ports 4 may comprise two rows of ports, one above the other. The ports of each row may increase in height from right to left while the corresponding ports 6 increase from left to right.
