Transmitting pulverulent material by forcing in a liquid channel.-A conveyer for ashes &c. comprises a pipe line 1 for pressure water connected to one or more hoppers 4 and provided adjacent each hopper with a hinged or sliding plate 10 fitted with an injector nozzle 12 through which the pressure liquid passes to meet the ashes falling through a slide valve 8 in the hopper neck. When there are no ashes in the hopper, the plate 10 is turned into a horizontal position by external means to allow the water to flow freely to the other hoppers containing ashes.
