Moving-chamber apparatus for pulverulent materials.-In an apparatus for measuring and delivering quantities of powder, of the kind in which a sliding door with a measuring-pocket is reciprocated under a hopper by a tipping-vessel which measures water or other liquid, as in a water-softening plant, the sliding door 2 is arranged so that the measuring-pocket 3 is normally in the delivery position as shown in Fig. 1. As the tipping-vessel moves on its trunnion 19, the levers 20, 22, 24 and links 21, 25 move the pocket 3 into position under the removable cone piece 15 at the lower end of the hopper 1; simultaneously the stirred 16 is rotated by the levers &c. 27, 28, 29, the pawl 30, and gearing 17, 18. The capacity of the pocket 3 is varied by a partition 10 adjusted by a screw 11 and lock nut 12. Specification 215,577 is referred to.
