Abstract

279,584. Metallisation, Ltd., and Arnold, A. A. Aug. 25, 1926. Joint-making packing.-A riveted or other joint is rendered tight by spraying iron, nickel, copper or other metal on the surfaces, which are previously cleaned by sand-blasting, or by chemical or other means. The sprayed surfaces may be protected by a thin coating of aluminium, which is coated with a reducing substance and subjected to heat treatment, as described in Specification 259,289, [Class 82 (ii), Washing granular &c.], or a coating of aluminium alone may be employed for packing the joint.
