Manhole covers. - Rolled metal tread plates forming manhole covers for roads are provided with rounded non- slip projections of elongated or star-shaped form instead of the usual round nodules. The extremities of the projections are rounded on a surface at right-angles to the plane of the plate. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 13724/85, 11875/93, [both in Class 2.0, Buildings &c.], 18416/01, [Class 33, Drains &c.], and 9601/10, Class 20 (iv), Floors &c.].
