Abstract
279,212. Igranic Electric Co., Ltd., Spaink, J. H. Abbink-, and Taylor, J. R. Sept. 7, 1926. Boosting by static transformers; regulation, automatic.-The voltage boost of a transformer Ta is automatically varied according to the supply voltage by a series of interlocked electromagnetic switches 1 - - 6 varying the secondary connections of a transformer Tb supplying the transformer Ta through a choke C. The switches 1 - - 6 are controlled by relays 15 - - 18 the operation of which is initiated by voltagesensitive relays 7 - - 10 responding to different voltage conditions. The last may be of the kind described in Specification 269,646, [Class 38 (v), Electric switches &c.]. The coils of the relays 15 - - 18 are controlled by auxiliary relays 11 - - 14 controlled by the voltage relays. For no boost main contacts 1a, 2a are closed, for succeeding steps 2a and 3a, 3a and 4a, and 4a and 5a and finally 5a and 6a. In addition to electrical interlocks which ensure correct operation of switches, mechanical interlocks prevent contacts 2a and 4a, 4a and 6a, 5a and 3a, 2a and 5a, 3a and 6a opening simultaneously. On failure of supply contacts 1a close and prevent inductive surges.
