Abstract

409,128. Automatic regulators. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, and SCHAANNING, A., White Cottage, The Uplands, Loughton, Essex. April 4, 1933, No. 10111. [Class 38 (iv).] Two or more transformers I, II are arranged with their secondaries in series in the load line C and their primaries in parallel across it, the primaries are controlled by a set of doublepole change-over switches A1-A4, arranged so as first to short circuit the primaries successivelv and then to re-connect them in the direction opposite to the original one, the result being that a bucking effect is diminished by steps to zero and replaced, also in steps, by a boosting effect. The switches A1-A4 are actuated bv solenoids S1-S4, which may be energized from the load line F arranged to act when the current therein reaches predetermined values, or may be operated by the control shown. This consists of a motor M which closes the circuits of the solenoids S1, S3, S2, S4 in succession through the contacts N1, N3, N2, N4 and is drawn in the required direction by current supplied through a switch L, R operated by a voltage coil V connected across the load circuit.
