Abstract

277,477. Liberty Shoes, Ltd., and Barlow, D. C. Aug. 27, 1926. Top boots. - A high legged boot for ladies is permanently creased as at 2, 3, Fig. 1, by a blocking or moulding process at the ankle or lower leg portion to allow ingress and egress of the foot and render this part of the boot of definite shape or design. The creases 2 are preferably of diamond shape but a ring pattern may be used to effect a bellows shape. The leather &c. is blocked or moulded to the desired shape and is advantageously lined with sheet cotton, fibre, canvas or paper, to maintain the creased effect. The boot material is moistened and placed on the block which is expanded. The boot may be bound on with string. The process may be quickened by heat and pressure. Alternatively, the boot leg may be moulded to shape.
