Abstract

268,698. Klapp, E. Dec. 23, 1926. Ordinary wear, for; uppers.-The uppers of boots are formed of a snugly fitting rubber tube 4 which embraces the ankle and part of the leg 5 and is extended to cover the instep. Preferably, the tube 4 is made of hard rubber and may be covered with silk or other fabric or worked with thread, or the rubber may be coloured in imitation of leather or to match the clothing. The rubber tube may be attached by means of a narrow strip of leather sewn along the joint, or it may be inserted between two layers of leather, when these are used, and sewn.
