Abstract

511,821. Slippers. ETABLISSEMENTS P. MARTINAUD. Nov. 1, 1938, No. 31565. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1937. [Class 17 (ii)] A combined sole and upper for a slipper is cut from a sheet of felt or woven fabric and folded about its axis of symmetry 3 ... 4 to bring the edges together where they are secured by stitching. The pocket shaped member thus formed is turned inside out and the edge of the foot opening is hemmed. After this an expansible lastshaped blocking member is inserted and the slipper is moulded to shape. A wear-resistant coating, e.g., of rubber may be applied to the sole in a volatile solvent, or a leather or other sole may be applied.
