Connecting uppers to insoles and soles.-A slipper or shoe of the turn-shoe type, is provided with a cushion above, the level of the outer sole a, without stitches existing at the tread side thereof. The cushion is formed of a strip of felt b, b<1>, or other material, one edge of which is attached, by sewing or otherwise, to a lip a<1> channelled up from the sole, and the other is sewn to the upper d while, the upper is turned inside out. The sUpper is then turned back and an insole e is added. The colour of the felt b, b<1> or other material may, for ornamental purposes, be different from the colour of the upper.
