Abstract

276,884. Horsburgh, J. K. Feb 4, 1927. Wet presses and couch rolls.-The couch roll 1, which may be solid or perforated, is provided with a felt band 3 adapted to absorb moisture from the wet paper web 20 before the web leaves the wire. Press rolls 12, 13, or suction box 11, may be used to absorb moisture from the felt. The roll itself may be jacketed also.
