Moulds for single-type casting machines.- Relates to means for guiding, adjusting, and lubricating the parts of moulds of the kind described in Specification 184,983. The main mould-blade E, Fig. 14, is held down by a rib o: projection H, which is integral with, or secured to one side-block C', and fits into a groove in the blade. The rib H mav serve to form the usual nick in the type. At the rear of the mould the blades are held down by a plate J, Fig. 2, which bears upon the cut-off blade E<1>. The blades receive additional support at one side from a plate or block B<2>, Fig. 1, which may carry the back stops for the blades. The sideblocks C, C<1> are, as heretofore, adjustable sidewise by means of screws or pins L, L<1>, against which they are clamped by a spring, and are adjustable relatively to the cross-block F by means of eccentric pins M. The side-blocks are held down by spring plates N, N<1> secured to the end-blocks. The cross-block is fitted with a matrix-seating F<5> in the form of a separate piece of metal, which extends downwards for the full depth of the mould-cavity. The rear face of the cross-block has a channel F<6>, Fig. 9, to receive surplus oil, which passes to a felt or other pad F'. Oil is supplied to the cross-block through an opening a, Fig. 2, in the side A<2> of the mould. A pad G<6>, Fig. 1, in the face of one of the endblocks delivers oil to the face of the cross-block. Adjustable blocks Q, Q<3>, Fig. 2, are let into the underside of the mould base for the purpose of adjusting the overall height of the mould. Specification 181,089 also is referred to.
